This talk is to provide tools to increase primary care clinician's confidence in screening, diagnosing and treating depression and anxiety. An overview of clinical applications for anxiety and depression will be provided with a review of case examples. This will provide an opportunity to use a framework called AMPS (A: Anxiety disorders, M: Mood disorders, P: Psychotic disorders, S: Substance use disorders) and how to provide initial psychiatric assessment in the primary care setting. Recording Access.

We will review the brain chemistry of addiction portends the diagnosis and treatment of substance  use. We will review Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and how to implement systematic screening. You do not have to have a formal title to be a leader, although this leadership work may lead to opportunities and lead to professional development.
